Magnetic Levitation of Diamond Modified with Manganese and Bismuth

Operating diamond grits to produce a precise grind tool is need. In order lift up grit by magnetic force, the flux was estimated be 100 μT/g. Diamond (110) surface modified with manganese powder at 450°C (720 K) then bismuth 270°C (540 due its low melting temperature. Manganese carbides were formed on which confirmed an X-ray diffraction. A magnet that exhibits ferrimagnetism surface, it had spontaneous magnetism. We conducted form six small disk magnets hexagonal apex positions using gold film mask. The measured center of hexagon 232 μT room temperature, and grid could lifted in field between two solenoid coils.
